World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King is the next chapter in the World of Warcraft saga. Now, I know that many people do not care about World of Warcraft. However, in all honesty, you can’t ignore the greatness of this MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). It currently has eleven million subscribers to date and counting. IGN has given a score of 9.1 to the original, a 8.8 to The Burning Crusade expansion, and a 9.0 to the latest expansion. The added content is so amazing that your character would wet himself even thinking about it.
The Wrath of the Lich King expansion contains many different changes. An improved level cap which has gone from level 70 to 80, a new hero class, a new area to explore and quest in, new dungeons and raids, a new achievement system, and new spells and talent trees. The new area, Northrend, is a frozen, barren wasteland with several lands. One of the lands is a whole area dedicated to World PvP (Player vs Player) and all the lands contain the new dungeons and raids. The new hero class, the Death Knight, is a new character that players can start if they have a level 55 of any class. The Death Knight class is a variation of many different classes that has a whole variety of new abilities and spells. In addition to all the new content, a new profession, Inscription, was also added with the new expansion.
All these new changes has brought a large crowd of players back to playing the game. There are many new realms opening up, free realm transfers occurring, and new accounts being subscribed. The Death Knight class and new dungeons have brought many old subscribers back from competing games, such as Warhammer Online, to explore the expansion’s content. The story of the expansion is also very compelling. The story revolves around the return of Prince Arthas, the evil prince turned Lich King, which also brings many Warcraft players back to their roots of the Warcraft 3 storyline.
Personally, the only reason I’m playing WoW again is because of this expansion. I love new content. I guess I’m the kind of guy that plays a game to be the first to finish everything. Hopefully I see many of the guys and gals from HFG in WoW. Feel free to look me up. Wongsolo on Magtheridon, Ally.
